Bob & Marty Wittig aren't your typical small business owners. They've been helping customers with Artistry makeup and Nutrilite food supplements since 1975. They were featured in a corporate wide magazine for their merchandising abilities because they've always focused on selling their products to regular customers.
After 46 years, most couples would be thinking of how to shut their business down but they believe that it, along with their faith, their physical activity, and their positive attitude is what makes them have so much energy. Both average more steps per day than most 20 years olds. After trying several other businesses, they found what worked for them in 1975 and haven't had an unprofitable year since. Their previous attempts at making money included obedience dog training, importing & selling tulips, and raising chinchillas. They all had some positive aspects to them such as the beautiful German Shepherds they raised, the stunning flowers in the spring in their yard, and the soft coats of the little furry animals that enthralled their six kids when they were young. Now they get excited to help someone improve their nutrition knowledge, change their beauty tips, or even to start their own business. If you are looking for Amway products in Carmel, IN, I'd recommend giving Bob and Marty a call. They'll take good care of you, I'm sure! I buy the Nutrilite vitamins from them.

We've been thankful to have had long-lived appliances recently. We had been putting off a problem with our refrigerator though for some time. The ice maker was leaking and we were getting some nice "stalactites" every once in a while. I did some research for a local appliance repair company and one clearly stood out for those type of things that we at PowerGlance Digital are trying to maximize for our clients: map ranking and organic search ranking in Google search. This company was #1 in both for "appliance repair Brownsburg". To add to that, they had great customer reviews showing on their Google maps listing (GMB). Capitan Appliance is the company name and the entire process went very well from initial contact through completion of the job. I used their contact form on Wednesday night and scheduled for Friday. I got a call on Thursday mid-morning asking if it was okay if they came out that day because their Friday was already booked. That worked for me! (Side note - what company does that - come earlier than you ask for?) Sol came out mid-afternoon and was able to confirm that the ice maker needed replaced. He had one on the truck and had it replaced and gone within 30 minutes. He said he was one of the owners and that they had just started the company two years ago. Their pricing was very fair and everything is working great! Highly recommend them but also love the way they are doing business. Sol said his brother was the one to thank for the good setup on the website and Google maps. Great job - very impressive! I'm celebrating a small business that appears to be doing things very efficiently, has employees who treat their customers well, and I highly recommend them! Hope Thoennes, from Avon, Indiana is the owner of Tailored Hope. She has been hand crafting accessories and selling them for over a decade now - mainly through her shop on Etsy but also through local craft fairs.
Hope has always wanted to be an entrepreneur. In fact, she found a list of goals from when she was nine where she listed wanting to start a "buzzins" (spelling was not her strongest skill). She was 14 when she started and has grown every year since, even after graduating college in 3 years with a double major in finance and entrepreneurship from Indiana Wesleyan University. Her small business has allowed her to help provide for her family but also honors those who struggle with mental health. Hope's youngest brother suffered from mental illness and committed suicide in 2018. Her store on Etsy shares the following: "We believe strongly in the importance of breaking the silence around mental illness and are devoted to helping those who struggle. 15% of all profits are donated to the organization To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) to help them provide resources to those struggling with depression, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts. After losing my little brother January of 2018 to severe depression and bipolar disorder, we KNOW the devastating effect that these issues can bring. Let's work to break the silence and bring HOPE!" It's awesome to have small business owners like Hope who provide quality, hand made goods and cares about her customers and community.
