We've had a LiftMaster garage door opener for several years and love that our installer upgraded us to the version that allowed us to control it through the MyQ app. Recently, however, the Wi-Fi receiver started failing so I was mildly despondent.
When researching current options, I found that to replace the 828LM LiftMaster Internet Gateway (the Wi-Fi receiver) was $60. That seemed too expensive for what I expected.
